Dr. Uche Nwadike

Uche Nwadike, MD (MBBS, MPH, CCFP, CIME)

Dr. Uche Nwadike is a highly experienced and compassionate physician whose medical journey spans over 20 years and three continents. With a rich background in family medicine, public health, addiction care, and trauma-informed practice, he is now co-leading a visionary initiative: a therapeutic group home designed to support children and youth living with mental health challenges and complex behavioral needs.

Dr. Nwadike earned his medical degree from the University of Nigeria and has since built an expansive clinical portfolio across the UK, the Caribbean, and Canada. He holds a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) with distinction from the University of Hertfordshire, UK, and is certified in Family Medicine by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP). He is also a Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME) by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME) and licensed methadone prescriber, with specialized training in opioid dependence treatment from CAMH, Toronto.

His career includes frontline hospital work in Trinidad and the NHS in England, as well as leadership roles in community clinics and harm reduction programs across Saskatchewan and Alberta. Currently, he serves as the medical consultant at the Skypointe Complex Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit in Calgary, where he works collaboratively with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary mental health team to support patients with severe and persistent mental illness.

Now based in Calgary, Dr. Nwadike is partnering with a very experienced psychiatrist to build a group home model that prioritizes healing, safety, and resilience. Their collaborative approach brings together medical, psychological, and educational support to provide comprehensive, culturally-sensitive youth-centered care. Their goal is not only to manage behaviour but to transform lives—by fostering connection, empowerment, family reunification and long-term stability for each child in their care.

What distinguishes Dr. Nwadike is his unwavering commitment to dignity, inclusion, and human potential. His leadership is grounded in empathy, strengthened by clinical excellence, and inspired by a vision to give vulnerable youth a new chance to thrive.
